Notice - 2024 seasonal load restrictions in effect as of February 2, 2024

As of midnight on February 2, 2024, seasonal load restrictions are in effect. The restrictions will limit vehicles to 100 percent, 70 percent, or 50 percent of legal axle loading.

50 per cent of legal axle loading only will be allowed on the following:

  • Hartman Road (also permanently restricted to 70 per cent)
  • Jutland Road, Leslie Road, from Blackwater Road to Haldi Road, Reynolds, W & E Sykes, Buckingham, W. Purdue, Birchill, Gudrum, Walter, Haldi (gravel portion)
  • Foreman Road, Veekens Road
  • Swanson Road and all roads west of the Beger/Swanson Intersection
  • Cranbrook Hill Road, from Melmack Crescent to Otway Road
  • Goose Country Road
  • Hoferkamp Road
  • Kueng Road

70 per cent of legal axle loading only will be allowed on the following:

  • All unpaved roads within the City of Prince George except as mentioned at 50 per cent
  • All roads west of Westgate Avenue, North and South of Highway 16 West, and all connecting roads except as mentioned at 50 per cent and 100 per cent
  • All roads east of Queensway from Regents Crescent to LaSalle Avenue (permanent restriction)
  • All roads east of Old Cariboo Highway and south of Highway 16 East except as mentioned at 50 per cent and 100 per cent
  • Cranbrook Hill Road from Foothills Blvd to Melmack Crescent including all roads connecting to Cranbrook Hill Road, except as mentioned at 50 per cent and 100 per cent
  • Aberdeen Road, and all roads connecting to Aberdeen Road
  • Landooz Road North including all connectors
  • All roads north of East Austin Road including connectors east of Highway 97 North, except as mentioned at 50 per cent and 100 per cent
  • Chief Lake Road and all roads connecting to Chief Lake Road
  • North Kelly Road and all roads connecting to North Kelly Road, except as mentioned at 50 per cent and 100 per cent
  • Foothills Boulevard from Chief Lake Road to West Austin Road
  • North Nechako Road west of Foothills Boulevard
  • Old Summit Lake Road and all roads connecting except as mentioned at 50 per cent

100 per cent of legal axle loading will be allowed on:

  • All other paved roads within the City of Prince George not mentioned at 50 per cent and 70 per cent, including Blackwater Rd., Foothills Boulevard, Woodvalley Drive, Woodoak Crescent, Meadow Rim Way, Twinberry and Burgess Road
  • Marleau Road from Highway 16 West to Southridge Avenue

Permanent 70 per cent of legal axle loading only will apply to the following:

  • Graves Road between Highway 16 East and the East City Boundary
  • Peter Road between Chief Lake Road and Karin Road
  • Fox Drive
  • All roads east of Queensway from Regents Crescent to LaSalle Avenue
  • Hartman Road, except as mentioned at 50 per cent
  • Leslie Road from Birchill Crescent to Sabrina Road, except as mentioned at 50 per cent
  • East Sykes Road, except as mentioned at 50 per cent
  • Kueng Road from Crest Road to Forests for the World, except as mentioned at 50 per cent
  • Betham Road, Sooke Road, and Belmont Road
  • Kluss Road
  • South Blackburn Road
  • West Sykes Road
  • Jutland Road, except as mentioned at 50 per cent
  • Beger Road

Trucking and transportation companies, as well as the general public, should govern themselves accordingly.
