Wood Innovation Square is the City's newest downtown park and is located next to the Wood Innovation Design Centre and the UNBC Wood Innovation Research Lab.
Wood Innovation Square
Wood Innovation Square is now open in Prince George's downtown area. The Square is the first downtown park to launch since the creation of Canada Games Plaza in 1994.
The new park is on Fifth Avenue next to the Wood Innovation and Design Centre (WIDC) and the Wood Innovation Research Laboratory and may be booked for activities and events.
Features and Amenities
- Picnic tables and park benches.
- 25 trees, 500 flowers, and more than 200 shrubs.
- Small stage, lighting, and hook-ups to water and electricity for food trucks, entertainment, and other vendors.

Canada Games Plaza
The Canada Games Plaza, upgraded for the 2015 Canada Winter Games, is a popular downtown outdoor event space. The Plaza features updated landscaping - including seating and lighting - and a seasonal outdoor ice rink. The Plaza often used for concerts, festivals, and other community gatherings.
The Canada Games Plaza is located at 725 Canada Games Way in front of the Prince George Conference and Civic Centre near the Two Rivers Gallery, Prince George Public Library, and Four Seasons Leisure Pool.
