Annual Spring Clean-Up Day

Join us for Prince George's 2017 annual City-wide Spring Clean-Up Day!

 

When: Sunday, April 30, 2017
When:
 10am – 4pm (please pre-register if possible)

Where: Various locations throughout Prince George, BC

Pick up litter in our neighbourhood parks and school yards, and along City streets and trails. Join other Prince George residents in making our City more beautiful during the annual City-wide Spring Clean-Up Day on Sunday, April 30, 2017.

It’s easy to participate!  Register individually or as a group using the online registration application or contact REAPS, Prince George's Recycling and Environmental Action Planning Society, at 250-561-7327 or events@reaps.org. With the online registration application, you can also select your designated area location(s) for the annual Spring Clean-Up Day.

Or register your group or organization in-person at REAPS (located at 1950 Gorse Street) or the City Hall Service Centre.

To celebrate Earth Day on April 22, at the downtown Farmers Market  from 9am to 3pm, REAPS will be taking Spring Clean-Up registrations, allowing residents to choose designated areas for clean-up, and providing free gloves and bags.

Where can I take litter and garbage on Spring Clean-Up Day?

  • For Household GARBAGE and LITTER ONLY, temporary bins are being set up around the City. Access to these bins is free. See the locations on the map below. Pitch-in bags and gloves for community groups can be ordered free of charge through REAPS.
  • Garden and yard waste can be taken free of charge to the Foothills Landfill site or the Quinn Street and Vanway Transfer & Recycle Stations. 
  • No LARGE HOUSEHOLD ITEMS or HAZARDOUS MATERIALS are accepted.
Information about the landfill and local transfer stations is also available from the Regional District of Fraser Fort George.
