2017 Park Strategy - Adopted by Council

The 2017 Park Strategy and Action Plan were adopted by Council on January 9th, 2017.

The 2017 Park Strategy has been developed by the City of Prince George in response to a need to prioritize park infrastructure investment as a key focus area of Council.

The development of the 2017 Park Strategy incorporated an extensive community engagement process that most recently included the review and feedback of a Draft Park Strategy by residents and stakeholders during the 2016 Talktober sessions.

The 2017 Park Strategy includes an Action Plan that provides a framework for the potential implementation of park investment priorities.  The 2017 Park Strategy and Action Plan will help shape parks for years to come with many benefits for the community of Prince George.

Draft Park Strategy - Fall 2016

Residents were invited to attend one of the five Talktober sessions that were scheduled in October 2016 to view a Draft Park Strategy and provide their input through an online Feedback Form.

The Draft Park Strategy was developed through a review of what we have, what we need to improve, and how we can prioritize investment to make parks the best that they can be.  The feedback for the Draft Park Strategy was used to develop the final 2017 Park Strategy.

To view the Draft Park Strategy, visit the interactive Online App or check out the 'Documents' list below.

Community Engagement - Spring 2016

This past Spring residents were invited to view the Park Assessment and provide their input into potential priorities.  Close to 500 people provided their feedback through a series of public meetings, stakeholder discussions and through the online feedback form.

Further highlights on this engagement are available in the Feedback Overview.
